  • CAN I HAVE SKIN TREATMENTS WHILE PREGNANT?

    You can definitely receive facials during pregnancy! While there are certain ingredients that are not recommended for use during pregnancy ( ), all of the products in Lira Clinical's BIO line and MYSTIQ line, pro lite serum, and pro firming serum are all pregnancy safe. Personalized signature facials, dermaplanning, and the Lira Clinical exclusive MYSTIQ Elite hybrid treatment can all be performed during pregnancy. Any other peeling treatments are not recommended during pregnancy. We do recommend you always check with your physician prior to any treatments.

  • CAN I HAVE SKIN TREATMENTS WHILE ON ACCUTANE?

    Unfortunately while you are on accutane you are not a candidate for any skin treatments with Amanda Dubois Esthetics. You must be off of accutane for at least 6 months, and be cleared by your doctor before receiving any skin treatments at Amanda Dubois Esthetics.

  • WILL DERMAPLANING MAKE MY HAIR GROW BACK DARKER?

    No, this is physiologically impossible, dermaplaning cannot alter the type of hair grown in any given area. The soft vellous hair (peach fuzz) will grow back slowly - usually in about 4 weeks.

  • HOW LONG DO I NEED TO WAIT AFTER GETTING BOTOX OR FILLER TO GET A FACIAL OR PEEL?

    You will need to wait 2 weeks after receiving any botox or filler before getting a skin treatment

  • IS PURE PEEL SAFE FOR FIRST TIME CLIENTS?

    While the pure peel is safe for all skin types and concerns, first time clients are NOT allowed to schedule a pure peel treatment. This peel does require the skin to be prepped.

Procell Microchanneling

  • IS MICROCHANNELING PAINFUL?

    Most clients say they can receive microchanneling with no numbing cream and only experience minimal discomfort, and no noticeable pain. Numbing cream prior to receiving a microchanneling treatment is available for clients who would like it.

  • WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT MY SKIN TO LOOK AND FEEL LIKE AFTER MICROCHANNELING?

    After your treatment has been completed you can expect your skin to be slightly red/pink (this will subside usually within a few hours), and may also feel hot and tight (similiar to when you have a mild sunburn). Clients who have received microchanneling report a "tight" feeling to their skin post treatment. Experiencing tightness, itchiness, warmth, sensitivity, redness (a light sunburn appearance) are all indications your skin is healing and producing youthful collagen.

  • HOW LONG UNTIL I SEE RESULTS FROM MY MICROCHANNELING TREATMENT?

    Most clients see results from their treatment immediately after receiving their treatment. Your results from microchanneling will continue to improve during the weeks following your treatment as your skin continues to produce new collagen and elastin. You will be able to see your full results from your treatment after 28 days.

  • HOW MANY MICROCHANNELING TREATMENTS WILL I NEED?

    For clients with minimal skin concerns 1-2 treatments may be sufficient, however we do recommend a complete series of 4 treatments spaced out 4 weeks apart for optimal results.

  • HOW LONG WILL MY TREATMENT TAKE?

    Each session usually lasts 60-90 minutes depending on areas being treated, if dermaplane is included, and if you need numbing prior to the treatment.

  • WHAT SKIN CONDITIONS CAN MICROCHANNELING IMPROVE?

    Microchanneling treatments can improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation and sun damage, acne scarring, enlarged pores, and rosacea. Microchanneling will improve the overall look, tone, and texture of your skin.

Microchanneling Skin Prep and Aftercare

  • Discontinue retinol (2% or higher) or tretinoin at least 3 days prior to treatment.

    If you get cold sores regulary, taking acyclovir or valcyclovir starting one day prior to your microchanneling will reduce the likelihood of a breakout due to your treatment.

    If your liver, kidneys and immune system are healthy, taking an NSAID such as Ibuprofen 2 hours before treatment may reduce any discomfort.

  • Starting 24 hours after your treatment you will start applying your aftercare serums twice daily to enhance your results.

    Make sure to keep your skin hydrated and moisturized, you do not want to let your skin dry out.

    Avoid direct sunlight for the next 24 hours after your treatment, but you may start applying your favorite SPF 90 minutes after your treatment is completed.

    After your treatment DO NOT do any of the following:

    - Apply anything to treated areas for 90 minutes after your treatment is finished unless it is provided to you by your certified ProCell provider with instructions.

    - Touch treated areas with your hands, cellphone or any other foreign objects for 90 minutes after your treatment is finished.

    - Use any retinols or AHA products for at least 1 week post treatment.

  • While Microchanneling treatments are safe and effective for most women and men, there are some people who will not be good candidates for treatments. Here is a general list of contraindications:

    Pregnancy– if you are pregnant or nursing you are advised to not receive any microchanneling treatments.

    Diabetes- unstable diabetes patients should not be treated due to healing problems.

    Active Herpes Simplex in the treatment area- treatment is possible once the outbreak is healed, however it may be advisable to take prescription strength antiviral medication to keep this condition in remission during the treatment series.

    Dry skin- if your skin is overly dry, you will need to start moisturizing and ensure the condition is under control prior to undergoing any treatment.

    Any active inflammatory skin condition e.g. eczema, psoriasis, infection, rash or any type of dermatitis at the treatment site (because it may aggravate the condition).
